Blog Angels || October Final Reveal

It's Blog Angels October Final Reveal time.  If you haven't heard of Blog Angels before you can read more about it here from Rosie over at Craftbotic.

For the month of October I have been a Blog Angel to Kate from Life As I Know It.

I have to say that this round was weird to me.  This was the first time that we reveal ourselves to the blogger we have been angeling at the half way point.  You can read my half-way reveal post here.  I found it a little premature since there wasn't much time to do much for my blogger.  Although Kate's main request was for comments I really wanted to do more if I could.  However, with changes in my family during this round I found myself with less time to be online so my time was limited in following Kate daily.  She was very encouraging though when she found out it was me.  She has no idea and she loved the comments I left for her.

Since the half way reveal there wasn't anything that changed.  I continued to visit and leave comments but the difference with this round is that I already knew Kate.  When you see her blog, it's hard not to comment.   She has a lovely family and a new baby!  She talks about products she loves and shares new things.  There is always something different and I relate well with her.  In that sense this was the easiest round for me since I felt we just clicked already.

Round 4 will be in December with a new twist, I'm excited and can't wait!  Want in on the angeling duties?  Check it out here for more info and check back on November 10th to sign up.

I'm A Blog Angel || Reveal

It's that time again... Third round of Blog Angels with Rosie over at Craftbotic.

For the month of October I am a Blog Angel for Kate from Life As I Know It.

This is my third round of being a blog angel.  For the first time we are doing the reveal at the half way point.  The first half of the month is to secretly stalk help our assigned bloggers in ways they have requested.  The second half will be to work with one another to help in anyway we can.  I'm excited to find out who my angel is.  Up to this point, I have no clue.

So far, I have followed Kate in anyway I can.  I have visiting and commenting regularly which is something she wanted.  Not sure if she knows I'm her angel.  This is the first time I knew my angel.  She is familiar to me in the blog community and we are swappers.  It was a huge difference in feeling like I wasn't giving myself away by showing up on October 1st and making it obvious I was her angel.  This is what happened to me in the past 2 rounds.  This time has been easier because Kate posts a lot.  She is very down to earth and her blog is very inviting.  I am looking forward to working with Kate with whatever she needs for the rest of October.

Want to be involved in Round 4 in December? Sign-up will open on 15th November. There is a Christmas twist which will allow for maximum participation!

National Pregnancy & Infant Loss Rememberance Day

On October 25, 1988, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed that October would be Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.  In this proclamation, Reagan stated:

"Each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of the newborn child. National observance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, 1988, offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn and newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members and work to prevent causes of these problems."

That number is staggering.  The weight of those losses is mind-boggling.  Across the country and around the world, so many women have suffered the loss of a pregnancy or newborn and are thrust into the unknown world of the bereaved parent.  I am sure that many women choose to remain silent about their losses for one reason or another, while others suffer tremendously under the weight of their loss or losses because they long to find support and just can't seem to find it.  Many, however, have been more outspoken about their losses, have joined support groups, or have in some way been a voice in the community about pregnancy and infant loss awareness.

This month, Sarah {from Fontenot Four} and I are joining together to bring awareness in this blogging community about pregnancy and infant loss awareness.  On September 28, 2006, a bill was passed which declared October 15th to be National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.  So this October 15th, Sarah and I will be hosting a very special link up.  We want people to know that they are not alone in their losses.  We want to use this link up as a way for us to share our stories of loss, no matter how recent or how many.  Whether your loss is new or you have been on a journey of healing for some time, we welcome you to join in our link up.  We want to provide a place to share your stories because you just never know when something you share might have a profound impact on someone who is traveling a similar journey.

Feel free to grab the button below so that we can spread the news about this upcoming link up!  Please be sure to come back on the 15th so we can share our stories and be a support and encouragement to one another!

Blog Angel Reveal!!

via pinterest

It's Blog Angel Reveal Day!!  Kaitlyn at Dreamy Meadow and Rosie at Craftbotic came up with a great idea to assign blog angels to anyone who wanted to sign up.  I get assigned a blog angel and a blog angel is assigned to me.  The goal is to be some one's blog angel for an entire month but your identity must remain a secret.  This is so hard to do!  Especially being paired up with someone you have never heard of before.  If you missed it, you can read my blog angel experience at the half way mark here.

Today is the big reveal as to who I have been an angel for.  Everyone, this is Karen from Ramblings of an Otter Wifey!!

Ramblings of an Otter Wifey...
Ahhh, this time around I did not do so well!  I feel so bad.  I had so much family emergencies happen that I pulled away from my blog and social media a lot lately.  I realized I was running out of time and got more disappointed in myself for not being a better blog angel to Karen.  I had hoped to become an active follower and leave lots of comments on her blog, interact through social media, and offer any help I thought she could use along the way.  Since she only posted 5 times in August, I found it hard to do so without totally giving myself away, so I didn't do any of that.  Instead I would quietly visit and read about her and boy has she been busy!  Aren't we all?  I don't blame her for only posting 5 times, I wanted to stop altogether when dealing with so much coming my way lately.  I am a new follower of hers on her blog, twitter, and pinterest.  Those things are not too suspicious so I did them right away as soon as I got my assignment.  :)

In my description to Rosie and Kaitlyn I told them that I could offer blog design elements and towards the end of this run, umm more like last week (I know, I'm so bad this time around!!), I sent Karen an email through Rosie which was sent to Karen anonymously about what her ideas were for her blog design.  I have not sent it to her but here's a sneak peek of a few elements I have completed so far.

I hope you like these Karen, if not, no worries I can make something for you that you'll love!!  :)
