Recipe || Garlic and Kim Chee Fried Rice

Hey guys!  I haven't posted on my blog in a while but I wanted to share this recipe and thought I'd do it here.  I'm hoping to start blogging again regularly.  I appreciate everyone who has reached out to urge me to keep it up and ask where I've been.  Thank you.  There's lots going on and with so many distractions it's been hard to put things into words.  Maybe this will kick start me in the right direction.

Fried rice is something my family loves.  It's easy to throw together and you can make it with just about anything.  Like I have said in my previous recipes, I don't follow recipes. I just add each ingredient to taste or based on what's on hand.  I know, I'm sorry!  I swear it tastes great, you just need to adjust to how your family likes it.  This is the great thing about fried rice.

Garlic and Kim Chee Fried Rice

Ingredients:
 5 cups cooked rice
1 large yellow onion, chopped
4-6 cloves garlic, minced
2-1/2 cups kielbasa sausage, chopped
5 strips turkey bacon, chopped
green onions, chopped
1-1/2 cups kim chee, chopped
pepper
garlic salt
oyster sauce
shoyu
1 Tbsp. sesame oil

Directions:
In a large skillet, cook sausage till browned.  Add turkey bacon, cook till browned.  Add onions, cook till transparent.  Add garlic, kim chee, pepper, garlic salt, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and shoyu.  Stir well.  Add cooked rice and mix everything together well till rice is well coated.

Top with red chili powder and furikaki.

If  you prefer fried noodles, swap out the white rice with ramen noodles instead.  Just boil the noodles first without using the seasoning packet that comes in the package.

Enjoy!

Let me know if you have any questions or if you try it.  Would love to hear from you!

One Ingredient Ice Cream, What?!

I first came across this recipe on one of my kids dvd's in the preview section before the movie starts.  I thought it was interesting so I thought I'd give it a try.  It's easy to remember because all they did was take ripe bananas, put them in the freezer, blend up the frozen bananas and eat it.  Easy right?

You can find other variations of this banana ice cream on Pinterest too.

note: peel and cut bananas into small pieces before freezing.

This is what I used:
3 large - Frozen ripe bananas
2 Tbsp - Peanut Butter
2 Tbsp - Nestle chocolate mix
Blender

Directions:
Toss frozen bananas into blender
Add any additional ingredients
Blend till smooth

Consistency is like a very thick marshmallow cream.

I'm not sure if you can freeze and eat later.  This is the first time I tried it tonight and we ate it up right away.

I have to say, it was better than I thought it was going to be.  I do not like smoothies with overpowering banana flavor so I usually substitute with blueberries.  Although the bulk of the recipe was bananas it had just a slight banana flavor but it's so filling.

Now I know what to do with all our over ripe bananas.  I will be making this again, my girls loved it!

 Enjoy!!

Have you tried frozen banana ice cream before?  Let me know if you try this, I'd love to hear from you!

Recipe || Homemade Hamburgers

We had hamburgers for dinner last night so I thought I'd whip together a little recipe post and share it with all of you.  This is not a usual recipe, just one that I tossed together with stuff I had in my kitchen.  Either way it's super yummy.  With summer here, this would be great on the grill for a Bar-b-que.

Gather your ingredients

 Ingredients:

  • Ground Hamburger (half tray from Costco)
  • Garlic Salt (to taste)
  • Black Pepper (to taste)
  • Oyster Sauce (to taste)
  • Chili Garlic Sauce (to taste)  I used about 3 rounded tsp
  • 2 Eggs

Directions:

Dump all ingredients into a bowl and mix well.  Form mixture into patties and cook your favorite way.  My favorite is on the grill but this time we had to make due with pan frying.  Cook till well done and enjoy.

Enjoy!!

If you try this recipe, let me know how you like it.  =)

Recipe:: BBQ Chicken Marinade

This was a throw what I have on hand because I ran out of everything I'd usually use marinade. It came out so good that I thought I'd share the ingredients.

BBQ Chicken Marinade

Here's what you'll need:

chicken

ketchup

brown sugar

shoyu

garlic salt

black pepper

Here's what I did:

I took frozen chicken and added the ketchup, brown sugar, shoyu, garlic salt, and black pepper into the bag. I let it sit out to thaw then tossed in fridge over night. Threw it on the grill the following night.

Here's where you'll hate me... I did not measure anything. I just threw it together. Which is why I was shocked it tasted so good. =) Depending on what you like just adjust amounts accordingly.

Here's another recipe you will love:

Marinade

shoyu

minced garlic

grated ginger

sugar

chopped green onions

Super easy and if you like you can add in a touch of sesame oil.

grill it the way you like it

enjoy!!
