Tell Me a Story

book

Last Wednesday the girls school hosted the Tell Me a Story (TMAS) event.  This event is put on by Military Child Education Coalition.  We are not a military family but the girls attend a public school on a base so most of these events are open to all students.

This event is great because it encourages families to come together and to give resources to help bond with the kids.  This is the first time we attended the Tell Me a Story night.  They had a guest reader come to read the story.  It was in the cafeteria but was in a little area with a rocking chair and all the families sat on the ground in front of the story reader.  After the story we all split into groups to discuss the story.  Then we moved on to making a craft.  The girls had so much fun because they are arts and craft "addicts" at home.  They decorated a child with colorful material, yarn, and crayons.  They were so totally focused on the task at hand and did not want any help from us.  Eventually daddy and I were able to lend a hand and I was quite impressed at Dakota's ensemble.  Rudy helped her and not only did Dakota's doll have a cute red bow, she had a sash.  He was so proud of what he did.  I was really excited about the outfit I made for Hayden's girl.  I just made a slit in the piece of material, put the head through and taped it in the back.  Super cute boat neck top, I want it!

In the end, they passed out cookies, and drinks and every family got to take home a copy of the book.

I hope we are able to attend the next one.  It was so much fun.  The girls were so happy.

Trunk or Treat

Hey how was your Halloween?  We have had lots going on here and I'm trying to catch up!  Hopefully my photo editing software holds up so I can upload my photos and start blogging about it.

This year was the first time our school sponsored a Trunk or Treat so we were excited to go.  The girls dressed up and could not wait to get there.  There were a bunch of cars that were decorated and as you can see in the photo, the theme with the movie "UP" won first place.  They were the only ones with a theme so they should win, right?  Hahaha, I thought it was very clever and they were so cute.

The girls got tattoos which was really cute because instead of going for the cute girly ones they picked the eye balls and scary stuff.  Go figure.  There was a drawing table to they got to color some Halloween pictures.

At the end there was a little parade pass the cars and they picked best costumes which I missed since I was sitting on the side with Hayden while she played with ate her hot dog and did silly poses with her lollipop.

Coming up...
Halloween
Birthdays
A New Addition
and more!

In the mean time, have you heard about this little contest here?
Take a moment to vote for me, Thank you!

Girls Night Out

Saphire called me to ask me to spend one on one time with her.  We have all been so busy it's hard for me to spend time alone with any of my kids.  It worked out where my mom could watch the little girls so we planned for Monday night.  The plans were a surprise to me.  All I knew was that it was just me and Saphire.  As the time drew near, I found out Ashley was coming and that Josh would be picking me up on his way home from work since he works by our house.

He came to the door in his uniform.  Since we have never seen him in this uniform we had to take pictures!!!

We had a nice drive to their house and had a nice talk on the way about where he'll be stationed for 15 + months at the end of August.

Josh and Ashley switched off.  We said goodbye to Josh and we were on our way to meet Saphire at the mall.  Ashley kind of slipped up and mentioned something about our appointments.  I had a feeling pedicures were going to be a part of our surprise plans so I remembered to shave.  =)

When we got to the mall Ashley got me her new favorite drink.
Black tea, sweetened, with strawberry, and thai walls.  It didn't come out right at this Starbucks so I was not impressed.  She did bring over one tonight and it was YUMMY!!  Wherever she went made it right.  =)  Then she stopped to get us some pretzel bites with Parmesan cheese at Pretzel Maker for snack while we did our nails.

Next stop, L'mour Pearlridge where Saphire works.  I always have a hard time choosing my color.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Well in all my life, this is only the 2nd pedicure I have had.  The first one was 2 or 3 years ago for mother's day with these lovely daughters of mine.  I love having them done but we just don't have the money so it's a treat that comes from my daughters.  =)

This blue was not what I was going for but I loved it in the salon.  At home, not so much but still pretty.  I was going for the midnight blue that looks almost black.  I guess they ran out because she couldn't find
it.

Next stop, surprise walk down the other end of the mall to California Pizza Kitchen.  Yummy appetizers and pretty decorated sodas and waters but our food was terrible.  All 3 of us sent ours back and when it came back my pasta was cooked wrong but still tasted good.  Our waitress was lovely and gracious.

Next stop, Dip n Dots Ice cream.  The girls got rainbow as you can see by their dip n dot lips down below.  I had a cookies & cream and coffee mix, it was so good!

We had a great night together just the 3 of us.  It's so nice to be treated by my girls to a great night out.  Thanks to my mom watching the little girls I was able to have a "girls night out" with my older girls and have a great bonding time with them.  They are also like best friend's to me, not just my daughters.  We have so much fun together.  =)

We ended our night going to visit my son Kapono who was in the hospital across the parking lot with pneumonia.  We had a few laughs before we needed to go home, it was so late by then.  It was nice for us 4 to be together again.  It has been a long time.  I remember when it was just me, a single mom and my first 3 kids when they were below the ages of 10 before I married Rudy.  The brief moment we spent in the hospital room together, just the 4 of us was precious to me.

I love my kids.

Fridays Letters

Dear Love bug, You are growing up so fast.  You are so little that I forget you are already over 2-1/2 years old.  I love watching you run and play without hesitation and with full confidence.  You make me smile with your little expressions you make as you are discovering new things.

Dear girls, this simple day out on the grass was so much fun.  You were all so excited to play with the ball and I was surprised at how much you loved it.  Hayden was the only one following directions hopping and ribbiting like a frog, you guys cracked me up!!

Dear Cinnamon Sugar Banana Bread, I could eat you all day everyday.  Thanks a lot Lacee!!  =)

Dear girls, I love the way you create things like this donations shopping area in your room.  The way you lined each of your items up and tagged each one with post it price tags and gave me a bag for shopping.  I miss being young and finding joy in these types of things.

Dear Aleshanee, This moment right here, the sweet joy in your face, melted my heart tonight.  As you watched a little girl playing and laughing with her family your smile got bigger and bigger.  I love your smile so much and to see how happy you were made me happy.

Dear Dakota,  you are such a goof!  Daddy calls you that all the time because you are.   You crack us up doing crazy things and catch us off guard most times.  I love how spontaneous you are and that you are sensitive to people's feelings.

Dear Love bug, I have a lot of pictures of you not wanting to look at the camera and sucking on your thumb.  You have always been a self soother.  Everyone keeps telling you to stop sucking  your thumb but I think it is way adorable.  You were creating in me sucking your thumb and I have the ultrasound photos to prove it.  It's your thing, it's what you know, it's what comforts you.  I get it and you'll stop when  you're ready.

Dear pretties I create for my shop, stop tempting me to give you all to my daughters, I need to make sales to help our family bring in money!! =)
